In our experience, Biology students often believe the subject is mainly about memorising facts. That is only partly true. Knowledge matters, but Biology exams often ask students to explain, apply, compare, interpret or evaluate.
A student may know the definition of osmosis but still struggle when asked to explain why mass changes in an experiment. Another may understand vaccination in general terms but not explain the immune response precisely enough for marks.
